Wendell Willkie autographed Note or Letter
(1892-1944) The dark horse Republican Party nominee for the 1940 presidential election. Willkie was a member of the liberal wing of the GOP, and he crusaded against those domestic policies of the New Deal which he thought were inefficient and anti-business. His opponent Franklin D. Roosevelt won that election. This item is a signed typed letter on his letterhead, dated May 1, 1944. It has the usual mailing folds and comes with the original mailing envelope.
