Spiro T. Agnew autographed Program
(1918-96) Vice President (1969-73) and Governor of Maryland. A popular figure of the Right Wing, Agnew resigned from office after it became known that he had been accepting bribes from his earliest years in local office to his time as Vice President. After being indicted on bribery, conspiracy and tax fraud, Agnew plea bargained and was allowed to resign from office and plead guilty to tax evasion charges. He was later disbarred. This item is an original program from 1969 for a Baltimore Chamber of Commerce dinner in honor of Agnew and his wife Judy. It is signed by both boldly on the cover and it comes with a cover letter from Agnew's personal secretary, Alice Fringer, who also attended the event and notes it in the letter. It is in spectacular condition for a program that is over 40 years old!
