Walter Skinner is an FBI assistant director in The X-Files, where he serves as a recurring authority figure and sometimes ally to Fox Mulder and Dana Scully. Often caught between his duty to the bureau and his suspicions about the conspiracies they investigate, he becomes an important presence in the series.
