Lord Carrington autographed First Day Cover
This item is a vintage first day cover hand signed by Lord Carrington, a noted Conservative politician who served as Foreign Secretary from 1979 to 1982 and as Secretary-General of NATO from between 1984 and 1988. In 1999 he was given a life peerage as Baron Carington of Upton, of Upton in the County of Nottinghamshire, and is therefore still a member of the House of Lords despite the passing of the House of Lords Act 1999. Today, he is the longest serving member of the House of Lords after the death of George Jellicoe, 2nd Earl Jellicoe.
