(1884-1972) The only U.S president to use the atomic bomb against a military target. Member of the Senate from 1935-1945. In 1944, he was elected candidate for vice-president of the USA and on April 12, 1945, he automatically became President after the death of Franklin D. Roosevelt. He was elected President in 1948, for the period 1949-1953. This item is a signed typed note on his personal letterhead, dated August 27th, 1963. It has the usual mailing folds and comes with the original mailing envelope.
