Ann Chase autographed Note or Letter
(1809-1874) Patriot. While living in Mexico during the Mexican war, she remained at the consulate to protect the American records. She held back a mob with a revolver and declared that no one should touch the flag except over her dead body. Fort Ann is named after her. This item is a 1 1/4 page handwritten, signed letter. It has the usual mailing folds and age wear.
