(1924-1993) One of the 7 original Mercury astronauts. This item is a signed, typed letter on NASA letterhead. In the letter, Slayton provides the collector with the addresses of Astronauts Gordon Cooper and Alan Shepard. The letter has been professionally double matted with a b/w shot of him in his spacesuit. The shot is as an Apollo Soyuz Test Project (ASTP) Prime Crew Member. He is suiting up for an altitude test of the Apollo command module in an altitude chamber of KSC's Manned Spacecraft Operations Building (MSOB). The overall size is 13x19 and it was assembled using only acid free materials. RARE item.
