English physician and surgeon that lived from 1853-1923. He was the friend, confidante and biographer to John Merrick, who is better known as 'The Elephant Man'. Treves gained international fame by his operation for appendicitis on King Edward VII in 1902. This piece is an autograph letter signed. It is dated October 24, 1908, and it gives his academic credentials. Very RARE autograph. Superb item.
