The 'Enola Gay' was the B-29 bomber that, at the end of WWII, dropped the atomic bomb on Hiroshima Japan, on August 6, 1945. The display contains a b/w photo of the explosion signed by 'Paul Tibbets, CO and pilot, Dutch Van Kirk, navigator, Tom Ferebee, bombardier, and Richard Nelson, radio operator. Also matted are the signatures of Jacob Beser, radar countermeasures observer, George Caron, tail gunner, and Joe Stiborik, radar operator. This is a very difficult ensemble to obtain! The item is professionally double matted, measures 12x16 and is made with acid free materials.
