This lot is a group of three multi signed, Limited Edition, Color Lithographed Prints (1000 issued). One print (17x24 ¼") pictures the 20 Aircraft or Rockets piloted by the Signers. The other two prints (6x24 ¼" each) picture the Aviators as they were at the time of their flights. Signed and numbered by the artist, Mike Machat. The aviators who have also signed are: John Glenn (1921- ) First American to orbit the earth, while in Korea he scored 3 kills in ll days while flying in "Mig Alley"; Eugene Cernan (1934- ) Astronaut who piloted Gemini IX, Lunar Module - Apollo X, Commdr., Apollo XVIII and a Moonwalker; Chuck Yeager - WWII Ace and Test Pilot. The 1st man to break the Sound Barrier; Francis "Gabby" Gabreski (1919-2002) Ace with 37 ½ Victories, 3rd leading American Ace in history and an Ace in both WWII and Korea; Joe Engle - Astronaut, X-15 Test Pilot and USAF Major General; Theodore "Dutch" Van Kirk - Navigator of the Enola Gay; Thomas Ferebee (1918-2000) Bombardier of the Enola Gay; Gen. Walter Krupinski –“The Count”. Swashbuckling WWII German Aviator with an incredible 197 Kills, Flew 1,100 Combat Missions and was wounded 7 times; Col. Theodore "T. A." Petras - USMC Pilot, Primary Pilot with Adm. Byrd's Expedition to Antarctica, 1939-41, WW II & Korean War Pilot including a stint as personal pilot to Gen. Vandergrift; Brig. Gen. Robert Scott, Jr. (1908- ) WWII Ace, Commanded the 23rd Fighter Group made up of the old Flying Tigers where he assigned himself to All combat missions, authored the classic "God Is My Co-Pilot", continuously in print since 1943; Saburo Sakai (1916-2000) Japan's Greatest War Ace with 64 kills, Shot down the first American Bomber lost in WWII, later identified as the plane flown by Colin Kelly; Evgeny Pepelyaev- Soviet Korean War Ace with 20 Victories over UN Aircraft, Hero of the Soviet Union and Air Force Colonel; John “Jack” Bolt (1921- ) Marine Aviator, only USMC Jet Ace and the only Naval Aviator to become an Ace in WWII and Korea, Member of Boyington's Black Sheep Squadron; Nancy Hopkins Tier (1908-98) Aviatrix, Gained National notoriety at the age of 19 when she buzzed Hoover's Inaugural Parade, Flew in competition from 1929-92! Gen Bill Sprunace - USAF Pilot, pioneered the use of light aircraft in War, Flew 362 Missions in China-India-Burma Theater; Brig. Gen. Robby Riser - Flew in WWII, Korea and Vietnam where he was shot down and held as a POW in North Vietnam; Hugh Mills, Jr. Vietnam Army Pilot with over 2000 Combat Missions, Awarded 3 Silver Stars, 3 Bronze Stars and 3 Purple Hearts; Lloyd "Fig" Newton (1942- ) USAF African-American Four Star Gen., Vietnam Combat Pilot, member Thunderbirds, etc. Bill Bedford Celebrated British Test Pilot, Awarded the Order of the British Empire.
