(1911-1975) Composer best known for his work on motion pictures such as 'The Devil and Daniel Webster', 'Psycho', 'North By Northwest', 'The Ghost and Mrs. Muir', 'Citizen Kane', 'The Day The Earth Stood Still', 'Cape Fear', 'Fahrenheit 451' and 'Vertigo'. This item is a typed signed letter, dated 1951 on CBS Radio letterhead. He had been chief conductor of the CBS Symphony Orchestra and he was being given a leave of absence to work on other scores and his opera, 'Wuthering Heights'. He is exceedingly RARE. There is some damage along the top border and it has the usual mailing folds.
