In 1944, he was elected candidate for vice-president of the USA and on April 12, 1945, he automatically became President after the death of Franklin D. Roosevelt. He was elected President in 1948, for the period 1949-1953. This item is a signed original Senate chamber pass to the 75th Congress, dated January 16th, 1937.
