(1888-1957) Exploror/Aviator. After his service in WWI, Byrd became the first man to fly over both the North and the South Poles, in 1926 and 1929 respectively, and led five expeditions to the Antarctic. In, 1927 (the same year at Lindbergh's flight), he flew nonstop from Long Island to France. He was made rear admiral by act of congress in 1930. This item is a 3 X 5 signature card signed in fountain by Richard Byrd. There are some age stains on the paper.
